I was 17th in the CCI** event at Weston Park International, Telford over four days in October. It was the first event at this level for me and for Deli (Western Lark). William Fox Pitt, Ruth Edge, Oliver Townend and many other top riders took part. That’s me in the victory parade with Sacha Pemble.

What a day!! Western Lark was on top form yesterday to win an intermediate section at Little Downham! This is our first win at this level and is sooo exciting. We scored a dressage mark of 34.6 followed by a convincing clear in the showjumping and practically skipped round the cross country. I have to say, she felt more like a 7 year old than a 17 year old!
I can’t forget my other ride at Little Downham, Zigeunerin W! This was only her 2nd ever event and her day was only marred by a stop at the water which was quite disappointing but she was very good apart from that. Although she must learn to stay inside the dressage markers! Her owner, Elenor Dimant now plans to sell her so there will be an advert appearing shortly! I will be sad to see her go…
Hopefully we will be seeing Western Lark in both Horse & Hound and eventing magazines soon as have spoken to them both. Salperton here we come….!

I was pretty happy with my performance in the Open Intermediate Under-21 at Hambleden on May 9 , especially after the embarrassment of being eliminated for jumping the wrong fence at the same event last year! I had my first clear round in the showjumping and again in the cross-country, where this picture was taken. Two riders had fallen earlier at this jump, one only just in front of me. Another fantastic day for Deli (Western Lark) , who enjoyed it just as much as I did!

My horse Deli (Western Lark) got the season off to a terrific start by winning the Open Novice at Tweseldown, Hampshire with a score of 30.2 on March 11. I was particularly pleased with the result because some of the great riders – including Mary King and Lucinda Fredericks – were competing.
Tweseldown was our sixteenth outing together and almost a year after Deli scooped first place in the South of England competition in April 2009. Thanks to Deli’s brilliant owner, Claire Hodson, who produced another winner just a few weeks ago – her baby daughter Zoe.
